the shop at forty

Established in 2013, the shop at forty was founded by renovating partners Sharon Walker and Lee Burrett.

Having always had a knack for upcycling retro curiosities and salvaging vintage pieces of furniture, we built a workshop in our garden, painted it turquoise and set about turning our hobby into an online furniture business.

In 2014, we set up a permanent shop in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, and successfully ran the business from there for 5 years. During this time they won a number of awards, including Business of The Year in the 2015 St Neots Community Awards, and also the Best Interiors store in Cambridgeshire 2 years running from the lifestyle blog Muddy Stilletos.

In October 2019, we decided to close the shop and move the business to our workshop/studio at home and our storage unit in Abbotsley. It's here that we store most of our stock, and customers are always welcome to visit by appointment.

We sell online via this website and channels such as eBay, Etsy, Vinterior and Vinted. You can find us on all these channels under theshopatforty.

From retro, revamped, recycled and clearance, we have a whole range of products available, with delivery and collection options always available.
